Your Transfer Case Output Shaft Seal can be found on the transfer case on your four-wheel INFINITI. The transfer case's job is to send power to the rear wheels on your four-wheel-drive model using gear reductions and chain drives.

The transfer case output shaft is the part that connects your axle to the transfer case with the transmission's input shaft and uses the Transfer Case Output Shaft Seal to make sure that the parts maintain a tight connection. Without the Transfer Case Output Shaft Seal, transmission fluid would leak from the rear and front output shaft.

If a worn out or damaged Transfer Case Output Shaft Seal is causing the shaft to leak, the low fluid level can no longer properly lubricate the internal parts of the transfer case, which can damage the gears and chain drives by causing them to overheat or wear out. These damaged internal parts can cause the entire transfer case to wear out rather quickly and become inoperable, potentially leaving the vehicle without four-wheel drive operation.
