Where to Drive for Fall Foliage
In a country full of beautiful scenery, it is nearly impossible to tell you which state has the best fall foliage. Take your INFINITI to one, or all, of the following destinations and decide for yourself!
Virginia
First on the list is Virginia, home of Shenandoah National Park. At this park, you'll find over 200,000 acres of protected land filled with towering trees, happy deer, and delicate wildflowers. With so many trees, it's no surprise you'll encounter gorgeous red, yellow, and orange leaves in the fall. Hike up to the Old Rag summit for the best view in the park.
Maine
While Maine is well known for its lobster, some people may forget this state's natural beauty. Bar Harbor is a town that claims to be “A Place For All Seasons.” However, a rather peak time for this town's natural beauty is definitely autumn. Be sure to check out Acadia National Park for the best fall foliage views.
Tennessee
The volunteer state has a couple of different places to offer scenic drives in the fall. Stretching from Nashville all the way to Natchez, Mississippi, the Natchez Trace Parkway makes the perfect road trip for fall scenery! Meanwhile, Gatlinburg, Tennessee, offers the beautiful Great Smoky Mountains. Here, you'll see thousands of beautiful trees with colorful leaves. Mid-October and early November tend to be the best time to hit this national park.
North Carolina
If you've already made your way over to Tennessee, it would only be fair to give North Carolina a visit while you're at it. The Blue Ridge Mountains never fail to bring the most beautiful sunrises. Of course, simply driving through towns like Asheville will have you admiring the stunning fall views in this state.
