With everything seeming to be remote controlled these days, do you ever wish you could remote control your car? Well, now you can with the INFINITI Virtual Key! Leave your key fob at home, and gain remote access to your vehicle through your compatible smartphone and smartwatch to unlock more convenience, functionality, and security in your INFINITI.

What is an INFINITI Virtual Key?

INFINITI Virtual Key allows you to control certain INFINITI features remotely from your compatible smartphone or smartwatch. After your INFINITI retailer installs the Virtual Key hardware component on your vehicle, you'll download the app to your compatible smartphone. Your INFINITI retailer will assist you in transferring Virtual Key ownership to your app. Once the app and vehicle component are installed, you’ll be ready to operate your INFINITI using just your device!

Does Virtual Key work without my key fob?

Yes! INFINITI Virtual Key will allow you to start your vehicle without your key fob.** Open the Virtual Key app on your smart device and press “Enable Start.” This will allow you to start your vehicle without having your INFINITI Intelligent Key inside your vehicle. When starting your INFINITI without your Intelligent Key, you must have the app open and “Enable Start” pressed, otherwise you will not be able to turn on or operate your vehicle.

What can I do with the INFINITI Virtual Key?

Your INFINITI Virtual Key will remotely allow you to access certain features from your smartphone or smartwatch, including:

  • Unlock and lock your vehicle
  • Open the trunk
  • Start your vehicle remotely**
  • Enable your vehicle to be started when the keys are not inside the vehicle

How does the Virtual Key work?

The INFINITI Virtual Key uses a device attached to the accessory service connector. This component is installed by your local INFINITI retailer. Your INFINITI retailer programs the device in your vehicle, and then transfers ownership to you, where you will now be able to operate your INFINITI through the downloaded “INFINITI Virtual Key” smartphone and smartwatch app.

Can I start my INFINITI from anywhere?

Your INFINITI Virtual Key system relies on Bluetooth® to connect your phone to your vehicle. The Virtual Key has an approximately 70-foot range. If your smartphone or smartwatch is further than 70 feet or there are any obstructions, you may not be able to remotely access your INFINITI.

The INFINITI Virtual Key is not equipped to work via WiFi and cannot be used outside of the ~70-foot Bluetooth range of your vehicle.***

Does my INFINITI model have Virtual Key?

Your INFINITI model may not come standard with INFINITI Virtual Key but may be able to be equipped!
