Your Transfer Case Output Shaft Seal is located on the transfer case on your four-wheel INFINITI. The transfer case's job is to send power to the rear wheels on a four-wheel-drive vehicle using chain drives and gear reductions.

The transfer case output shaft on your vehicle joins the transfer case to the axle with the transmission's input shaft and utilizes the Transfer Case Output Shaft Seal to ensure that the connection is secure. Without a working Transfer Case Output Shaft Seal, transmission fluid would leak from the rear and front output shaft.

If there's a leak caused by a broken, damaged, or worn out Transfer Case Output Shaft Seal, the lack of fluid will no longer lubricate the internal transfer case components, potentially causing the chain drives and gears to wear out, overheat, or break. These damaged internal parts can cause the entire transfer case to wear down and become inoperable, which can leave the vehicle without four-wheel-drive capability.
