- Seals the connection between the transfer case and the transmissions input shaft
- Can wear out over time and cause fluid leaks
- Replace if you have difficulty shifting, there's a grinding noise under the vehicle, or there are issues with four-wheel drive
The Transfer Case Output Shaft Seal is found on the transfer case of your INFINITI QX60 2013-2013 or INFINITI JX35 2013-2013. The transfer case is responsible for transferring power to the rear wheels on a four-wheel-drive vehicle by utilizing chain drives and gear reductions.
The transfer case output shaft connects the transfer case to the axle by the input shaft of the transmission and uses the Transfer Case Output Shaft Seal to keep the connection secure. Without a functioning Transfer Case Output Shaft Seal, transmission fluid would leak from the rear and front output shaft.
If a worn out or damaged Transfer Case Output Shaft Seal is causing the shaft to leak, the internal components of the transfer case may no longer be properly lubricated, potentially causing the chain drives and gears to wear out, overheat, or break. These damaged internal parts can cause the entire transfer case to wear out rather quickly and become inoperable, potentially leaving the vehicle without four-wheel drive operation.
If you have a worn out or damaged Transfer Case Output Shaft Seal on your vehicle, a few symptoms may be present. These symptoms include trouble with your INFINITI remaining in four-wheel drive, a metal-on-metal grinding noise underneath the vehicle, and issues shifting gears.
If you believe your Transfer Case Output Shaft Seal is old or wearing out, replace it as soon as possible to avoid damaging the transfer case or other nearby components.
Replace your old Transfer Case Output Shaft Seal on your INFINITI with a new replacement seal from INFINITI Parts. This Transfer Case Output Shaft Seal 331424N200 fits your INFINITI QX60 2013-2013 or INFINITI JX35 2013-2013. Click on the What This Fits tab for additional information.
