The Mass Air Flow Sensor on your INFINITI is an important component of the electronic fuel injection system. The Mass Air Flow Sensor sits between the air filter and intake manifold on the engine and measures the amount of air that enters the engine through the engine air filter. Your INFINITI's computer takes the information gathered from the Mass Air Flow Sensor and determines how much fuel is required to maintain the correct ratio of fuel to air.
If your vehicle's Mass Air Flow Sensor is damaged or worn out, it can cause the engine to run lean, meaning the air-to-fuel ratio either has too much air or not enough fuel. If your INFINITI's engine is running lean, your INFINITI might have trouble starting, or you may notice decreased performance or backfires when decelerating.
