Radiator Coolant Hose (Upper)

Part Number: 21501-1CB0A
Supersession(s): 215011CB0A

Your INFINITIs cooling system is designed to ensure your vehicle doesnt overheat. And your vehicles cooling system relies on a quality, functioning Radiator Coolant Hose (Upper) to work correctly. As the coolant fluid in your INFINITI travels through the coolant system and radiator to your vehicles engine, it passes through a Radiator Coolant Hose (Upper). Its crucial that your Radiator Coolant Hose (Upper) is free from leaks, cracks, or bloating that may cause further damage to your vehicle.

Over time, the rubber that makes up your vehicles Radiator Coolant Hose (Upper) can get old and wear out. When this happens, your Radiator Coolant Hose (Upper) can get brittle and crack, causing a coolant leak. If an excess amount of coolant leaks out, your vehicles engine may not receive enough coolant to maintain a safe engine temperature, potentially causing your INFINITI to overheat. If the engine overheats, it may lead to added repairs and further damage to your vehicle.

Additionally, the Radiator Coolant Hose (Upper) may bloat, meaning the hose bulges out or swells in some places. An overheating engine due to low coolant can cause superheated coolant to pass through the Radiator Coolant Hose (Upper), which can make the rubber swell and bloat, likely causing additional damage and cracks to your vehicles Radiator Coolant Hose (Upper).

If you feel the Radiator Coolant Hose (Upper) on your vehicle needs to be replaced, a great place to start is a visual inspection. When checking the coolant system, always make sure the engine and coolant system are cooled down completely, as the cooling system is pressurized, and super hot coolant may spray if the Radiator Coolant Hose (Upper) becomes compromised.

When looking at the Radiator Coolant Hose (Upper), look for swelling, cracks, dry-rot, and warping. Look for coolant leaks on the ground underneath the vehicle, specifically underneath where the Radiator Coolant Hose (Upper) is located on the vehicle.

In addition, check the dashboard if you feel you have a bad Radiator Coolant Hose (Upper). Check if the Low Coolant light is illuminated or if the temperature gauge is displaying that your engine is running hot. Your owners manual gives an overview of the different dashboard lights and their meanings.
