Your INFINITI's Mass Air Flow Sensor is an important component of the electronic fuel injection system. The Mass Air Flow Sensor sits between the engine's air filter and intake manifold and measures the amount of air that enters the engine through the engine air filter. Your INFINITI's computer takes the information gathered from the Mass Air Flow Sensor and determines how much fuel is required to maintain the correct ratio of fuel to air.

If your vehicle's Mass Air Flow Sensor is damaged or worn out, the engine may run lean, meaning there is too much air or not enough fuel in the air-to-fuel ratio. If the engine is running lean, you may notice decreased performance, backfires when decelerating, or your INFINITI won't start.
