Your INFINITI's Door Mirror Glass (Left), commonly referred to as side mirror glass or wing mirror glass, helps you achieve a more complete awareness of the road in all directions. If properly used and in combination with the other mirrors on your INFINITI, your vehicle's side mirrors can help you make smart choices behind the wheel, observe and keep away from upcoming cars, and see road obstacles.
When fit together, the Door Mirror Glass (Left) and mirror housing make up your INFINITI's side mirrors. Your Door Mirror Glass (Left) fits inside of the housing of the side mirror and is created from reflective single-ply tempered glass. Tempered glass is used in your Door Mirror Glass (Left) because it breaks into sizeable shards rather than busting up into hundreds of small pieces like normal glass.
Even though right and left side mirrors help increase your visibility in a similar fashion, they are made a bit differently. Your driver's side mirror is typically made with flat glass, but the side mirrors on the passenger's side are usually a convex glass. Your passenger's side mirror curves inward to give drivers a more complete picture. However, convex mirrors cause image distortion — which is why there is a warning label which states, "Objects seen in mirror may be closer than they appear". It's important you confirm that you've purchased the proper glass that corresponds to your mirror housing.
