Your Positive Crankcase Ventilation valve (PCV Valve) oversees how much carbon dioxide, methane, and nitrous oxide is emitted from the crankcase in your INFINITI. The PCV Valve adheres to the crankcase, which holds your vehicle's motor oil. When fuel is burned within the engine, the lubricant in your crankcase develops gasses that can be damaging to the mechanical systems inside your INFINITI and earth's atmosphere. Instead of allowing harmful gasses to get into the internal-combustion engine and develop gunk that will ruin your INFINITI, the PCV Valve gives the gases a place to escape. Next, the gases are burned in the combustion chamber. Lastly, they're released into the atmosphere as fumes.
