The Door Mirror Glass (Right), also known as side mirror glass or wing mirror glass, helps allow you gain a clear view of the road in all directions. Combined, your Door Mirror Glass (Right) and mirror housing make up your car's side mirrors. Your Door Mirror Glass (Right) sits inside of the housing of the side mirror and is created from a tempered glass that is both reflective and single-ply. Tempered glass is used in your Door Mirror Glass (Right) because it will break into sizeable shards rather than breaking into tiny pieces like traditional glass.
Though right and left side mirrors perform similar functions, they are created with slightly different materials. Your driver's side mirror is usually created with flat glass, and the side mirrors on the passenger's side are usually made from convex glass. The convex passenger's side mirror has a curve to provide drivers a bigger visual. It's important to note that convex mirrors can create an image that isn't true to life — hence the on-glass label which states, "Objects seen in mirror may be closer than they appear". It's important you double-check that you have the right glass for the side that needs to be replaced.
