The Mass Air Flow Sensor on your INFINITI is an essential part of the electronic fuel injection system. The Mass Air Flow Sensor is positioned between the engine's intake manifold and the air filter and measures the amount of air that enters the engine through the engine air filter. The computer in your INFINITI takes the information gathered from the Mass Air Flow Sensor and regulates how much fuel is needed to maintain the proper air to fuel ratio.
If your vehicle's Mass Air Flow Sensor is damaged or worn out, it can cause the engine to run lean, meaning there is too much air or not enough fuel in the air-to-fuel ratio.
